small engine made from ks brass
« on: January 11, 2007, 12:59:17 am »

hi I'm not sure if this is any use to pepole Ive all ways wanted to have a steam engine but couldn't afford one
so i looked on the net and i found the oscillating or wobbler engine i don't have a lathe or mill so this was the easyest option
fore me i didn't use plans i just guessed the firs piece ans made outher parts to match it will spin a 50mm brass prop at a good speed under water i think the no load speed is about 3500rpm on about 18psi if any one has questions about how i made it bee free to ask.

Lovely little job.  You can't beat the satisfaction of building an engine and watching it do it's thing.  The problem with little wobblers is they are hungry for steam but just enjoy watching it on air.

thanks

this one is relay bad on steam or air the thing that i like is i got about 7£ worth of brass and that amount would have made 3 engines
i run it off a home made compressor it was free to make fridge compressor on top of a empty Gas bottle to store up the air when you need it
