Any Build info on the Deans marine DKMW
« on: July 01, 2010, 02:31:02 pm »

http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/10_25/products_id/437

Kids want one of these.
Has anyone got information on what else is required preferably with links to shops selling the extras?

The wheels, tyres and leaf spring suspension kits came from a specialist in Germany, just the axles/differentials are from Robbe, part numbers 3624 - front axle, 3638 - rear axles x 2, 3621 - shaft set. All in i think i spent near on £850.00 to complete to this level....

There's an excellent article in MB Jan 2010 covering all this in detail.   It's a scratchbuilt hull but to the same scale  as the grp one.    Lots of info on the drivetrains though the builder is obviously a bit of an engineer as well.  He rebuilt the axles to a considerable degree.

Leaving aside copyright, I don't have access to a scanner here.  If Colin Bishop is reading this thread he will know if the article is on the MB website or scheduled to be put up there.   A pm to him may help as he's the MB webmaster.
