Hello all
I have been challanged to make a model hovercraft that kids can use so it need to be strong and able to take knocks but also lightweight thin ply is out as it does not take knocks well what elese is out there ?

nice idea but the fusion is meant for speed really i was thinking about something a bit bigger with either 1 or two motors for lift and thrustor one that does both i just need something that will take knocks epp foam is ideal but i cant find a supplier

How about using 'Correx'?
Also known as 'Coroplast' it's the stuff they make 'For Sale' signs with.
They use it a lot on 'SPAD' aeroplanes.
I have no idea where you would find large sheets of it though, It might be worth asking on a SPAD forum.

Why not carve it out of polystyrene or blue builders foam then cover with pva soaked brown paper ?

Have a look at 9mm plain soffit board. It has a hard outer skin and a light weight core. You can get it in widths upto 405mm and 5M in length. Its quite light, stiff and able to take a bump. Its easy to cut and shape and it can be glued.
