I bought this kit a few years back and just today opened it up. I wondered if anyone on the forum had built up one of these and how it went? I am not too keen about the vacuum formied bits. The hull looks very nice I also have the kestrel motor for the kit.

Don

A member of our club built this kit as his second or third model and made a very good job of it with,as far as I know, no problems. The model usually gets a few complementary remarks from passers by at the pond as it has a Prince Phillp figure in it.

Cheers

Hi Doug,
Would you have an idea what the scale is of this model? I have read through all the paperwork and can't seem to find it. It isn't even printed on the box.

Hi Don

According to The Model Dockyard the Royal Barge 1938 is 1: 24 scale.

Actually as the original is approx 40 foot long and the model is 2 foot 6 inches long the scale is nearer 1:16

Thanks for this information. I couldn't find the scale referenced anywhere. I forgot about the Model Dockyard.
