She's coming up!
« on: October 28, 2010, 06:03:09 pm »

Hello!
Below is coming up my last rig.
Stuart boiler & Saïto engine (7.5cc). She was a police boat on the Tames at the  begining of the last century. I like the shape of thoses old boats. :-))I do not follow the plan but the  hull only. She will be used to carry tourists on the rear deck. Nothing really special. Just for the fun. I'll have to improve the details to get near Bernhard quality, but..... Not easy! {-)
I'll let you know the first trial on the water. ;)
Cheers! :-)

That's a beautiful boat, and the build quality seems very high.
Please post more pictures, also of the engine in the boat, servo linkages etc.

Hello!
Thanks for your comments. :-)
For the motor in place and linkages , we have to wait until everything is inside. %) This week end may be!
I use poplar and pin wood. Also plywood for the keel. Poplar is soft and easy to sand paper. Before painting, I paint G4 all over to harden the wood and gel coat inside for a better cleaning : oil and....! {-)
The deck is made of exotic wood from the corner shop.
Have a good day! O0

That's a lovely looking build made all the better for having a steam plant in it.

Very neat plank on frame job on the hull as well and a lovely superstructure.  This is going to make into a very special model.

Good evening! :-)
Tried today, but as I ay higher, I have problems to light the burner and it takes long time to warm up! {:-{

I'll check on the jet , but it does not look plugged in and I shall insulate the boiler, but it should not cut the warming time by two! :((

Any suggestion welcom! ok2

Insulating the boiler certainly helps.

To get the water boiling faster, fill the boiler with warm water. This way it steams faster and you have more gas left for navigating.

Good evening Steamers! :-)
The weather being fair, I loaded my boat in my car and  gone to the lac. Privilege of the retirees! %)
The temperature being a bit fresh 10C , it has taken 15min to get 2 kg into the boiler.
Then I sailed 35min w/ less than a bar, which makes  the reverse difficult. I stood along side the bank just in case!!
I'm sure that you noticed that my condenser is still under construction! No sorrows: virtualy no oil in the engine. O0
Also the passenger shelter (taud) in at sewing shop! :}
The lights are "ON" but no effect in daylight! {:-{

Hope you enjoy! ok2
Sincerly! :-)
