Particularly this comment:

"We just haven't tried enough," he says.

"We've looked carefully at only a few thousand stars and very few channels that are possible on the electromagnetic spectrum and that's hardly even a start.

"If you take reasonable or optimistic values for the [Drake] equation, it suggests that right now, there may be around 10,000 civilisations we can detect in the galaxy.

Finally got around to watching this. Very interesting. Paul Davies as usual talking sense.

Shame they didnt go into the 'updated' version of drake's equation though.

Drake's entitled to his opinion about not having looked long enough although he would say that, wouldnt he?

What is clear is that the current SETI model is in need of radical overhaul.
