its normally a good way of looking at products , you just need to be able to remember where you saw them / which company sells them in the future ! . how much of pathfinder have you managed to salvage ? i take it you will be able to reuse the propshaft / motor and rudder , along with the superstructure and deck fittings ? from what ive read the original had four shafts , two gas turbines and a pair of diesels to run on

so are you wanting to upgrade to multi shafts or sticking to a single shaft ? rather than just replacing the already damaged sides , you will probably find it easier to start again by building a complete hull and deck ? providing new timber is supplied i have a powered fret saw that i use to cut my timber , so a kit of parts could be supplied . leaving you to glue peices together (but not your scissors ! )  jon

i sygest you invest in a coping saw , it has a bigger throat than a junior hacksaw and has the bonus that you can rotate the blade angle too !  try robert bish hardware in fratton rd ( just past model shop , on oposite side of street ) or failing that b & q .

as we all know its very easy to hit the wrong keys on the keyboard ! my thought on a coping saw , if you head back from the model shop to the big roundabout ( left heads towards b & q ) go straight over towards southsea , there are lots of second hand shops on both sides of the street . on one of the junctions on the left is a second hand shop with green painted window frames , they sell second hand tools , it might be worth your while looking ? As with most tools , buy the best you can afford , look after them and they will look after you ! ive still got spanners that i bought when i first started working . some of the spanners for my own car are years older than i am  and have many more years left in them yet !  :-))

i thought you had a broken toe , still thats more time off school to make your model boats ! just not very good weather to sail them this week apart from of course teusday when the sun came out . did you get your measurment correct as you said you were planing 10 inches off from your overcut sides thats almost the width of a sheet of plywood !

filler needs to be sanded so sides can go on the originall front and part of bottom was stuck on the new bottom to give it strength

first side to be fitted on tommorow
