Martin

Just spoke to Mike and it seems a crack as appeared in between two of the planks, most probably caused with the weight of the boat and moving/transporting to the Loch....

Thanks

Russ

Nothing a spot of resin and glass cloth can't fix in about 10 mins !   :-))

It will take longer to fit the inversion/repair stand than do the repair !!!! {-) {-) {-)

I'm glad you've found the source of the problem, happy it's a relatively easy repair too. Don't think she'll be taking that kind of punishment again though....unless you're doing the Channel crossing.  {-) O0 {-)

Link to some video on youtube taken by my wife during the sail along Loch Ness. This is the "calm" part of the sail. It just got worse as the day went along.

After watching my wife's videos of the sail I think that the action of the boat in the head on sea is the cause of the plank springing loose.

Notice that the crew on 003  upper deck are still working away and not being sea sick !

If that was the "calm" bit of Loch Ness I think the models did extremely well to keep going for as long as they did,
a credit to the builders and 0 out of 10 for the met office.

The models all performed well, it was only the weather that was against us. The wind most of the time is blows from the South so that's why we chose to start at Fort Augustus. We couldn't change to the North end on the day as the support vessels, the Mairi Bahn and Muirtown Explorer were already in place. Just one of those things I guess. Dave.  :-)

well chaps, just been totting up the sums, and the total confirmed so far is just over £2400 with pledges totalling so far just £500 so we are close to the magic total of equipping 3 lifeboat crew persons with full safety gear.....a sum I never even considered when I came up with this "hairbrained stunt" that someone wrote to me about..................

well done guys, without you and the support from all those whoi donated we couldn't have pulled it all off.

A valiant effort lads, well done.

I'm intrigued by this photo, how is that RIB making such good headway with the outboard out of the water?!?!?

I think you should use this photo as a caption competition Martin  :-))
