I have gotten one of these new blue boilers with water gauge and have already modified it a bit.
If any of you want to get it, you should note that the chimney diameter is rather small, which gives limited draught and makes firing it with third party burners tricky. I hope it works well with the gas ceramic burner they provide (which wasn't available when I had ordered mine).

I'm wondering if the new boiler and engine were meant to work as a pair? The boiler is rather small...

EUR165 is a very reasonable price to the engine. Pity about the flue on the boiler being so small in diameter, it also looks to be very short.

do they do a 3 or 4 cylinder version as the design lends itself to bolt more and more cylinders on just needs a simple base , and what is the pipe on the water colum for?

The pipe is connected to the boiler refill valve. Regner offers a hand-pumped spray bottle for quick refilling under pressure.

Is there any pop off valve on the boiler???
The effective volume seems small to me but steam distributor is at least smaller and better than the previous ones.
Engine looks nice and affordable.
Waiting for return informations !

Just over 400€ for the complete unit, looks to be a safety valve just behind the chimney. Design looks to be a CNC update of the old USE engines which could be stacked as an inline or Vee multi.

Wonder how long it would have taken Mr. M to get his own version out.

The boiler volume is quite small (40-50ml), but it is not the smallest boiler they make (25 ml). However, even if small, it has 4 longer water tubes in the combustion chamber and 3 short ones up the center flue!
So I would think that only small engines with a bore up to 8-9 mm should be used. If twin, even less.

Good evening!

I am not an enthousiatic adept of the teflon inside our engines. Above all when it has to be rolled on and squeezed inside the piston's groove. Some pieces may part away and get inside the drawers finally.
The solid teflon is probably better but it swollen with the eat and it has to be machined down really precisly to avoid strong rubbing against the cylinders walls.
A friend of mine has built some engine w/ teflon cups for the pistons which looks promising as the cup stiks to the wall at any temperature.
That's all I can say, but this does not mean that we do not have to use it.

I have used them. It runs well, but I can not say how durable they are compared to normal pistons. There is one drawback: Once they were under steam it will not be possible to run them with compressed air as the pistons will only be tight when heaten up.
However, this little engine looks interesting but I guess I wouldn't use it with this very small boiler.

No, the whole piston is made of Teflon! Actually there is NO Piston ring. Regner is doing this on all the newer engines as far as I know...

I was meaning teflon piston ring made of solid teflon ; machined down on a lath. That works good on mine so far.
I have no back up with piston made entirely w/ teflon! But my feeling is .......

No it's not a piston ring, it is a Teflon piston, made of 2 halves like 2 saucers joined at the bottom.
