Problem solved, put a couple of washers in the rear mounts between rubber and mount, thanks guys :-))

I think your eyes are going funny Ian, there's just over 3" between the two of them...

Very possibly - my eyes that is.... I was looking at one of the photos inside the boat, so I couldn't clearly see where the skeg ended under the resin. The shape of the skeg probably confused things as well - looking from that angle.

Yes it is inside the boat, the skeg angles backwards off the shaft at quite a high angle, so gives that illusion.

Rudder recieved in the post Glenn, thanks very much. I think it's going to be way too small but we'll have a look.
