Chasewater Model Boat Club - bring n buy/swap meet.
« on: April 05, 2011, 11:13:01 pm »

Chasewater MBC are planning a bring n buy/ swap meet for model boaters. we are thinking to do this in the near future, possiblyt within the next few months, but will give you all plenty of advance warning. it will be based in the Cannock/staffordshire area of the country, with easy access to the motorway network for those wanting to travel.

We will allow any club member to set up a stall table and have their own kit for sale.swap. this will be for a minimal fee to cover hire costs of the hall.

we will also charge a £1 per person admittance fee , but once the totals of all stalls and entrance fees cover the cost of the hall. ALL further collected WIL be donated to the RNLI, so you will all be adding to a good cause.

IF any club in particular would like to join us, please reply and let me know and we will try and ensure the hall is of sufficient capacity to site all as necessary.

So if you have any bits you no longer need, but would prerer them to go to someone else within the model boat fraternity, plus you prefer not to let them go for nothing, but a few quid is all you ask, or better still, will swap for soemthing else you have found difficult to trace, then heres your chance !

PLUS ! you might even get brownie points off the missus for clearing a couple of shelves out, thats she's been moaning about at you for years [ha ha].

For those who have contacted me, having problems locating the site of the bring n buy, when using google maps, please copy n paste this:

52.71766,-2.040402

This should land you right on the roof of the building itself.

If heading north out of Cannock, carry on up A34 towards stafford,
go round a small traffic island,
go past "holly lane" on your right.

huntington Community centre is approx 100 yards north on RIGHT.
there is a car park on front of building, including disabled spaces.

the Littleton Arms is immediately next door heading north.

If heading south from Stafford, as soon as you see Littleton Arms on your left,
Community centre is next building to it.
if you reach traffic island, turn around and come back on yourself, you went too far !

Id just like to say many thanks to all the people who turned up today and brought along their selection of boats, motors and bits and pieces for sale.
lets just say that there was some real bargains to be had by the select few that bothered to have a wander round the sale room.
And YES, some people did walk away with some good bargains.

Perhaps the lure of the formula 1 race kept too many people occupied?
