Spare cogs for Joysway Warrior Offshore Lite Servos
« on: June 29, 2011, 06:04:16 pm »

Hi All,

I'm repairing a Joysway boat for a friend who's boat has stripped the gears on the servo and blown the control transistors on the ESC.

The ESC repair was easy, had equivalent transistors handy and soldered them in.

But, the servo is a five wire one and has stripped a few teeth off one of the cogs.

Does anyone know if any normal servos use the same gear set?

Or , has anyone successfully modified a normal servo to a five wire setup?

Hobby shops currently only sell complete servo/esc/receiver modules at a premium price and only a tenner short of the price of a new boat!

Any help greatly appreciated,

Ok finally found out how!

The Joyways servos can be replaced with a standard 9g mini servo. But...

You need to dismantle the new three wire servo, remove the control board and solder the old joysway cable directly to the motor and variable resistor.

Job done, three wire to five wire conversion.
