HI! Sam, your fishing and allotment gardening are like my Amateur radio and archery, people read but no replies.  Never done sea fishing, only freshwater, mainly carp, live close to Southampton shoreline , so should have done it by now.  Do fancy a spell of fishing from a boat, like every else dont always have the time.  Although i do say, " do something new every year that you have never done before.  I do this mainly through cruising and visiting new countries.  Re allotments.  I have 200 feet of garden, so takes me all my time to look after, do my archery, and my new hobby of model boats, so not much time left.  Tight lines :-)

I used to be an avid sea angler, off the beaches and headlands around Barry and Penarth, but I struggle to find time these days. I still have all the gear, so maybe I'll get off my backside when the cod season kicks in. :-))

In the garden this morning - beautiful day and thought what the hell am I doing here pulling weeds so headed up to the
Lake for a few hours flyfishing - caught nothing but met some friends and had a great day
Weeds will still be there when it is a cold cloudy day
Got to get your priorities right.

So right Geoff. I've spent many a cold dark night with no fish to take home, but a good fire, good coffee and good friends. Priceless!

Hi Guys

I too like sea fishing and a bit of gardening.

My problem is where I live, 70 miles to the west coast and 80+ miles to the east coast, so I don't get out very much at around £20 a trip. Now that I'm retired I have to be carefull with the pennies.

I am a member of the sea-fishing.org forums.
