Model Slipway Tamar Lifeboat
« on: August 31, 2011, 12:26:11 pm »

Hi Guys,

I am well into the building of the hull for the Tamar Lifeboat but am unsure of what do do in the Anchor area.

I have made up the anchor boxes and anchors and also cleaned up and painted the anchor chain cover.

Have any of you built this model and know how to set up the anchor chain.

I have photos of the full size boat but they are not too clear and the front page photo on the instruction manual is also (to me) unclear.

Any ideas.

Heres a couple of pictures of my Model Slipway Tamar, modified with folding aerials and mast, opening rear hatches and transom door, and working lights and radar.

Tamar looks great Cornishman. I've got these pictures of same type of anchor and mount off a Tyne Class, Dave.  :-))

Thank you for all the information I really appreciate the time spent replying to my query.

I feel more confident in continuing with installing the chain.

Best Regards,

Ian   :-))

That is a great looking model Cornishman.  :-)) Is the folding mast operated by a servo?

Hi Charlie,
Unfortunately not, but I have added hydraulic rams (non working) and remade the mast mountings out of brass to replace the white metal ones supplied. The mast and aerials are manually pinned when up.

My model is currently on display alongside the full size 16-04 at Padstow Lifebost Station.
