Newbie - Victoria owner
« on: September 06, 2011, 04:10:38 pm »

Hi to you all, I joined yesterday after I saw this forum in a link offering advice on the Victoria.....

I very recently got back into building. I Originally bought an Aussie 2 about 7 years ago, just to try out the hobby, but after about 2 years I gave up. Then I saw something on the Discovery channel (I think) about R/C yachts and so I dug the Aussie 2 out of the attic and tried again... then after about a month of sailing that one, I upgraded to the Victoria which I completed about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I've only managed to sail her 3 times so far.... but she's got better each time!

Here's hoping you guys will help me make it even better!

Good to see you've ditched the silly steering wheels, always getting in the way they are... :}
Lovely yacht the Victoria, I enjoy sailing mine, even came runner up in a knock out last year  :-)
Nice one!

Hi Nige, learnt my lesson with the steering wheels on my Aussie 2! The fake winches are going next. They cause problems because the mainsail sheet gets tangled on them.

Hi Ned, I really like the look of the brass brackets to replace the stock cleats & the revised rigging..... I'll add those to my list!

Thanks to you both!

Steve.
