RAHIA presentation!
« on: November 30, 2010, 08:36:13 pm »

Good evening! :-)
As my previous launch, this one has the same hull coming out of the same rig.
The main difference is in the boiler which is vertical. The engine : D10 %) is driving a water pump to supply the boiler from a water tank sticked to the condenser to gain some heat.
I hav'nt done any trial in the lac yet, as the temp is too low, and I hate ice exept in my "Pastis"! {-)
The boiler "Jean paul Bourdillat"  is 125 mm large by 220 high. The burner is ceramic from Stuart. Gas tank is home made and I shall add a pressure regulator to it , to be able to vaporize my gaz mixture and sail when it's cold.  O0
She is not finished yet but I am expecting some fun w/ her! I need to improve  the details as Bernhard! >>:-(
By the way! I think some of you have been to Warwick and met my friends with the big Riva, the Eva faun (supply w/ crane) ,.....According to what they said , they had good time there! I definitly have to come next year ! :-))
Hope you enjoy! ok2
Cheers! :-)

Very nice boat and steam plant. The hull seems very large, how long is it?

Looks to be approx 24 rib stations in the hull end to end and the Double Ten looks to cover two pitches so ------

Good evening! :-)
The rebound of the RAHIA! :o
As I was unhappy with the performances of my vertical boiler, I succeed to buy a cheap horizontal one from a friend (thanks JC ok2), and by having a larger heated surface , I have better performances out of my D10.
The gas tank is too small and waiting on another one (for Xmas) , I need to pre-heat the boiler with the gas bottle. When the pressure reaches 2.5 Bars , I switch off eveything and I fill up the gas tank. I then can go on in liquid phase. My sailing time on liquid phase is only 20min at "fair" speed. So I definitly need to double gas tank capacity.
The water supply pump works good and keep a constant level in the heater when the by-pass is all shut in.
Just have a few gaskets to change on outlet and to tight some bolts & nuts to be able to deliver "navigation certificate"! %)
I let you see now!
Kind regards!

Hi Yves,
what is the diameter of the propeller your D10 is driving?
Nice boat indeed!

Hello Mog8! :-)
The proppeller is 4x blades 90mm. If I had more room, I would have gone for a 120mm, but small boat=small props! ok2
cheers! :-))
