What size props are they going to handle?

I will add that MFA motors are quite "torquey", they do run away with the amperage if you are not careful, so depending on battery capacity, you may get short run times compared with a lower current drawing motor.

I have built the boat and the motors sound ok to use, just remember that the hull is like a bath tub and has plenty of space for several batteries so time on the water is not an issue. Go for it.

Just out of interest,i sail a Solent. Its powered by two MMM t 12 12v motors.I find that these motors are good but in my opinion overrated.Run time on two 12v 7amp hr batteries is about an hour.Im limited by  prop to hull clearance as to prop size.Using the origanal twin rudder system she doesnt turn too well.A p 94 from Action (twin esc and mixer) helped. She will now slowly turn in her own length.John.

I run two geared Decaperm 6v through a P94 which is a bit on the slow side but good for 2 hours (by which time I've dozed off and fallen in) As I understand it the full size boat would have a top speed of around 11 knots, it wasn't a fast boat.
2 x 800's is quite a bit but you don't have to use it and it's good to have the power in rough conditions which I know mine would not be able to handle comfortably.

Mine doesn't turn too well either but there is a mod shown to me which reflects the original rudders, I'll try and find it and post the pictures.

This is my Aerokits Solent.

Found some interesting pictures, these are from a real boat kindly sent to me by a member of the Model Fireboat Website but I'm sure he won't mind me sharing them.
You can see the rudder has horizontal flanges to the top and bottom edges, he's carried out this modification and it does improve the turning circle considerably.

More like 8-9 knots.

Dave its hard to answer your question. The Mfa motor is ok but better motors are avalible.? Personally i find Actions 700 0r 900 motors fine. But as said there are many others. You may find your geared motors to low reving.I run four blade props. Before the mmm motors i ran Bueler 700s Not much diffrent.John.
