please suggest me a name...
« on: December 04, 2011, 05:53:03 am »

Good Morning all of my respected Friends and Colleagues..after some hard works in modeling projects, including the instructional model of JSF, now i am in holiday, as the Christmas and New Year..and yes, not a time to sit, but working on my own crafts, at first of all i have to finish my Fishing Trawler, is a 28 inch, long range capable..by now, i have completed more than 80%, and in tests she behaving well..so, waiting to paint it..it will be my "Model of Christmas"..so, i was looking for a name, for her, must be feminine, because each and every craft is considered as "Mothers", as all they protects and prosper us..so, all of my Friends, please suggest me a name, for her..it will be a kind grace, to me, in this great Month of Gods Grace..

"Merry Christmas and Happy new Year to you all.."

Good morning:  Best wishes for your new fishing trawler.  To take up your theme of Protecting Mother may I suggest some names from ancient mythology, many of which have been used to name ships.
Hathor, Isis, (Eqypt); Toci (Aztec); Freya (Norse), Gaia (Greek); Hera, Ceres (Roman); Danu (Celtic); Ninsun (Mestapotamian); Nerthus (German).  There are names from Indian culture of course.

I name my models after the river or fishing port/harbour on which the original vessel was built, eg., 'Thames', 'Orwell', 'Colne', 'Medway', 'Chelmer' etc., so I'm never at a loss for a suitable name,

India has many  rivers which give life to the land and its people as a Mother gives life to her children, so why not consider using one for your current projest - 'Ganges' springs to mind as an obvious choice.

Regards and Best Wishes

Good morning all of my Respected Friends...and a million thanks once again for the quick reply on my worry..actually, i painted her by yesterday, and waiting to dry..and Popeye, by last 14 years, i have completed lots of crafts, with the name of my rivers and king animals. so, i compel myself, that each and every one of my craft must be differ from each other. so, now i am in a confusion, that i got ample of names here...and by this eve, i have to finalize the name for her,as, i have to go for a DTP, for stickers..so, i am willing to take the name, from respected Bobk, as "NERTHUS".and i do not know the meaning of this word.i feel this name as extra ordinary..i will come back at evening, and my respected Friends, please give me a final conformation of this name once..because i have to finish her before Christmas..HOORAAYYYY..........."Merry Christmas & Happy New Year once again.." :-))

Hi that,s just what i mean the one i stayed on had laced wicker sides to form the outer walls on the upper deck ,also it was very nice to have a breeze as it was very hot at night ,and the roof was curved to allow for rain fall .I have to say your rice boat looks amazing.
