Use the telephone and you'll have no problem contacting them - they are notoriously old-fashioned!

Try using Skype to landline. Very cheap.

I pay about 0.02Euro (2c) per minute from China to UK.

They do this ALL the time, yes they go to shows so a 3 or 4 days without a response OK. but if they do it all the time then they should delete the email address and fax number and stick to phones only to have a web site you don't have to put an email address on it, they have been doing this for years serial offender's

what do you mean a reaction like mine, they are serial offenders for this they have been doing it for years try searching before you start typing, there have been several posts on this, I have tried to find out what was happening to an order by email some time ago, why email because they where not answering the phone if you read my email I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said wait 4 days first, I did this in fact I tried for a week to phone and I emailed no response, I just wanted the product or a refund, a pal of mine had the same thing about 6 months ago , no communication from them but they had taken his money.
I have given up with them .
So before you start typing next time get your facts right.

From experience Peter is correct and your off base.

They are serial offenders and do not respond to emails.
Had a whole bucket load of trouble trying to buy bits for my scnellboot of them.

Finally got through via other parties and this forum.
Not good enough.

There is enough bitching about how hard it is to run a business, but when a customer and or potential customers make justified adverse comments all hell breaks loose.
Whilst I can hook up Skype to ring overseas why should I? emails cost me nothing and we aren't all flushed with cash.
They offer email, so the answer is simple, answer your email.
Others I deal with do so.
Will not be dealing with them again for bits for my Vosper, am going elsewhere.
Very sad

MY comment was simple, If a trader has an email address ether answer it or delete it simple.

I would listen to your comments if you had the GUTS to put TRADER on your posts so we can all see why you post the way you do,

Peter, I'm not going to dig up the past , but to jog your memory i offered advice to a potential manufacturer.

Personally, I deal in email, offer a phone number and by law ... offer an address ... something others don't give up so easily.

I just can't see how SHG are deliberately ignoring correspondence and I am a firm believer in phone first.. sure that offers difficulties from overseas but that .. in my opinion ... is the customer's hurdle not the supplier's (rightly or wrongly)

I may well have got it wrong but having spoken to SHG I'm sure they will get it right!

Peter, to be as honest as i am in my posts takes guts!
I happily say that Yes I am a trader, but according to this forums rules etc i cant advertise who i am ... Bizaree i know as other traders can appear with only one post and be accepted.... you decide!

No it is not my problem but theirs.
If you do not want overseas trade don't advertise as such and we won't buy and won't have these difficulties.
There are numerous traders who specifically state "no everseas etc" and I respect that stance.
But to advertise and then tell me to ring you long distance, give me a break, surely you are not fair dinkum.

Well Ill do it for you, and we will let the members of the forum make up there mind about you, A new trader put there first post on mayhem only to be attacked by a trader who offed the same service, but they did it by not saying they where a Trader or they offed the same service, there is room on mayhem for lots of trader as long as they play fair and not attack each other, I thought Model bits where excellent and never once stooped to dirty tricks by making remarks about the other traders work.

I leave it to mayhems to make up there own mind.

Don't understand why you are defending SHG, unless you are defending all traders.
If so, they don't need it, there are some excellent traders on this forum, who I have enjoyed dealing with.
Sadly SHG is not one of them, based on my experiences, (plural).
So you can agree to disagree.
However, SHG, as amply put, should shut down their email service they don't respond.

Answering emails solves the problem, especially for us who can't afford long distance phone calls.

That is true, emails do solve problems if received.
I know for a fact that sometimes they don't arrive. overfull boxes etc.

But are we not basing the argument on very thin detail?
