Major alteration to bow shape?
« on: December 19, 2011, 10:43:55 am »

I need some ideas here, guys...

I need (well, I'd like to...) change the bow shape on a styrene hull from this:

To this:

Any ideas as to how to go about it?

You could try cutting the profile in styrene sheet then gluing ribs on at 90 degrees.  Fill the spaces with styrofoam and smooth the whole lot with P38 filler.

Make a plug and draw a couple of half shells from sheet (Like molding a toy aircraft canopy)

It's another of my favourite concept boats, tentatively named HMS Excalibur...never built, never left the drawing board.  That's why I like concept boats....

When that pic is opened in a new tab, the link says it's a GBFFG type 46- it's not.
search instead for GBDDG Type 46
That was a fun half hour !
