D - section metal rod for edging purposes?
« on: December 21, 2011, 10:00:55 am »

Hello.

I need some D solid section metal rod for edging purposes ideally non ferrous but ferrous will do. It will be chrome plated once bent to shape and polished.

The dimensions would be as near as possible 3mm wide and about 1mm high.

I've tried cutting tube but this has proved not to be possible. Do you have any ideas ?

Mike.

Addendum.

Just spoken to MK Metals, they have some in brass @ £12.50 per mtr + £10.00 p&p. As I need a metre and a half can't afford that.

Try the toy steam loco parts suppliers, used on the edges of tenders, Reeves, GLR, Blackgates engineering.

Many thanks Ian.

Sorted.

2 metres brass on its way from Blackgates.

Mike.
