Dean's Marine figures (1/24)
« on: December 26, 2011, 04:29:14 pm »

Does anyone have any of the above in unpainted form? I was wondering what the casting quality is like - I found one jpg on the internet, from 2005, that suggests a lot of prep work is required to get them looking reasonable.

Thanks.

Hi 'BigA';  I have had two sets of Dean's figures in 1/96 scale, very little flash to clean prior to painting.  No problems.  If the cast quality is this good at very small 1/96 I suppose the larger 1/24 should be proportionally better still.

Thanks, Martin. The ones I'm interested in are the US Marines, shown at the bottom RHS of your jpg. These are for my 1/24 PBR (which I've now started to build again - updates to follow) - although Pibbers were operated by the US Navy, the marines are the closest available. They look good, actually - I'll probably order them.

Yes, I looked at HSL - no appropriate figures.

A.

I have just acquired a PCF Vietnam boat to refurbish, but dont really know the scale, I think its 1/24th, how tall in mm would a 1/24th figure be? then I can measure the wheelhouse door, as I too would like  a set of those figures,
thanks

(Martin, should there be a picture with your last post?)

6Ft at 1/24 is 3" or 75mm

Hi all, its a great pity that we do not have the equivalent in 1/24th scale of the separate heads bodies and arms that Airfix do in 1/35th scale.  The Desert rats are doing several duties on my boats.

Unless of course some one knows a kit manufacturer that does?
I have other scale kit characters but find little use for children and females, well at least in kit form!
Happy New Year,
Roy
