new member I am building a 36" Dumas shelly foss tug. I have got 2 12v motors. the specs are 12v DC  4750 RPM  continuous amp 3.2  continuous torque .4312 in-lbs. would these motors do the job or are they to big.

Some would say they are only too big when they will not fit in the hull. but then they decide that the hull is then too small.

It will all depend on what you want as it is your model and your build.

Size of prop type of prop and whether in nozzle's all have bearing on the final outcome, sorry I cant be more specific as at this time there are too many variables to give a definitive reply (IMHO)

I have the Dumas running gear which includes several different reduction ratios and 2 2.5" dia props. as for what I want to do it is a type of model I have always wanted. There are no clubs close as I live out in a small town  so I am a bit of a loner this will be purely the joy of seeing my own tug in the water.

What are the physical dimensions of these motors & what do they weigh?
