Hi.

Whilst looking for a non Evostik type glue to fix the coaming upholstery on my Riva Aquarama I cams across this in my local Q.D. store.

It's called Fantastic Elastic and it really is fantastic, clear, with high initial grab and sets in about an hour.

Before I used it on the boat I tested it on a number of different materials, the stuff is unbelievable, I was able to stick plywood to a polythene bag which tore before the glue let go.

I glued chromium plated 3mm brass half round to glass and some ABS 3mm angle to acetate sheet, in each case glue didn't let go until damage was done to the material.

Cleans up with white spirit and is waterproof when set although the joint does remain very, very slightly flexible.

It's sold by 151 Adhesives and is on Amazon for £1.33 delivered.  My local Q.D. does it for 99p but I think Q.D. are only here in Norfolk.

Here is a photo.

Am off back there now to grab a couple more tubes.  Really get you out of trouble good stuff.

Mike.
