The previous photo is a good example. But is yours to be fitted to a "ship" or something smaller?
I only ask as the example shown seems to have a slightly smaller diameter than a ship unit. Also, all the units I've seen have had the belt drive cover set vertically upwards from the centre with the drive motor positioned above the window.
Simple enought to make though. Two plasticard "washers" (generally the units were painted white) glued either side ov the window, a small centre hole for the disc "axle, no need to cut the actual disc as the edge rim is hidden by the outer casings. The visible part of the disc between 12 and 15", with the casing part about 2" wide.  And that's it. BY.

Forgive my ignorance but what does it do?

The centre panel spins, throwing water off and allowing free vision through it.

Allegedly...

It's a sort of windscreen wiper.

Please don't say "allegedly".....they were very effective, except could only be seen by one person at a time. BY.

Bryan, I know the Kent screens which we  had on the lower front of the open bridge on the Battles were only 9 inches in size but exceedingly effective.

Geoff, I know they came in different sizes....but your old war canoes probably had smaller windows than my sort of ship. But now, of course, each window has a proper wiper.
How's the hip? Bryan.
