Hi, Everybody, Thought it was time I made my Number to you.  Im 79yo. and been making model boats and planes since I were a nipper. I live just off the South coast near Southampton. I was Apprenticed as a Yacht Painter and Signwriter, did 2years  in the R.A.F.,  then joined Union Castle Line on Stirling Castle until found  unfit for tropical use, so came ashore and resumed my trade again.   Sailing was my great passion, both in dinghies and Offsshore classes.  I built my own 12ft racing dinghy, then went as crew on a 12metre.for three seasons. Great times.   Back on shore I resumed my trade once more.  Around the late 60s I was involved in painting and finishing ship models for use in Test Tanks, also display models fo r designers. After a gap of a few years, I started making models for myself again,    Here are a few of them.   Tug  John Ross, 48 inch semi kit,Also known as Wolrad Woltemade.     52inch P.O.F. Turbinia, scratch built, 3 speed 400s and 9 props.  Revell  Flower class Corvette,r/c,Tamiya 350 scale Yamato,  4 motors and props, working radar, goes well.   My all time favourite however is my 42inch Thornycroft 55ft C.M.B. in f/g from my own plug and moulds. These were made in 1982, but nobody showed any interest in having one so I made two, one to prove the mould, and the other to finish for  myself.   The  Proof hull was made heavy to make a static model, the production hull weighs only 660grams.  Have to  stop for now, will continue this one finger epistle very soon.  Im a right thicko with this modern technology so please be gentle with me.   Regards to all  from  Cherub4
