In Australia and New Zealand, it is etiquette to pour the beer with the least amount of head possible (less than a fingernail in size preferably). A sizeable head on a poured beer in either of these countries is considered deceitful and the person will feel as though you are cheating them :-))

The machine is perfect :D

Many moons ago the whole of Earl`s Court area of London seemed to have Aussie barmen and waitresses.  In it`s heyday my own village`s then (1970s) new tourist development had 25% Oz staff and a sprinkling of Kiwis.  In fact I had a nice little sideline going selling "Aussiemore" t-shirts. The village is Aviemore.  I have only seen one  Aussie Pub , it was in the Lowood Hotel on Winderemere. It had crocs and digerydoos and so on all over the place, didnt wait long as the lady I was with was an Australian and NOT impressed >>:-(, I could not persuade her that it wasnt an Aussie Pub last time I was there. They do sell Fosters everywhere in UK but I think it is brewed here {:-{  There is also a restuarant in my village called `Roo`s Leap, dont think they serve Oz tucker, more likely to get pie and peas down the street at "The Happy Haggis" restaurant, used to be the local chippy but went posh. {-)   The national chain is called "Walkabout", seem to be everywhere and have a mainly Oz staff.

Foster’s Group was acquired by SABMiller plc on 16 December 2011 providing exposure to Australia’s strong economic growth prospects, a leading position in the stable and profitable Australian beer industry, and the opportunity to apply SABMiller's capabilities and scale to improve Foster's financial and operating performance.

It was mentioned on another forum by an expat US citizen

Guys.......most OZ beers are OK after mowing the lawns when it is 40 degrees C  %) ...we usually pour the dregs from second or third can over the VICTOR lawn mower to let it cool down   {-)...prior to raking up all the grass  >>:-( <*< & that is another story in it self which requires another few cans.......... O0 ....Derek

PS ...we have mentioned fosters beer that tasts like cats p*ss...please lets not denigrate this story to compare it to swans p*ss  %%

I remember Greenalls from the 60s and 70s.  One of the prime reasons, along with the equally vile efforts of the other major "brewers" of the time for the growth of home brew and CamRA.  Oddly, I've yet to have a poor pint of KEO, or Leon, for that matter.  Perhaps I have just been lucky with the bars I frequented out there.

I'll second that! Greenall's lager was possible the worst beer ever made and their bitter wasn't much better!
