What a nice engine! Looking very common to Thornycroft torpedo boat engine.

A proper light weight boiler and a proper boat (torpedo boat) are required to complete the whole picture  .
 
Another implementation of the same idea - Wilesco engine which was 'dressed' to look like Thornycroft torpedo boat/fast steam yacht engine.

This bit is (no doubt) a displacement lubricator which is integrated into the cylinder block of the engine.

There are no specifications available so far, but they should not be far away from those of the old PB2.
Yes, the lubricator is in the middle of the cylinders block.

Was it not one of our members who questioned the wisdom in a new designed engine by Nick Monahan which incorporated the lubrictor body fully contained within th engine head assembly?
 
At least this example lubricator from MH&B appears to have increased surface area by the external fins .......... Derek

Looks like a good idea with the cooling fins below the cylinder but in my opinion the heat from the cylinder will prevent the lubricator from condensing as it's enclosed in the cylinder.
But then they are very experienced engine builders so I assume that they have experimented with this on there design.

Bank loans come to mind.

No I never commented on Nick's engine as he more or less wound up his business just after I joined the forum.
I have always stated my dislike for the Straight thro' lubricators without an adjusting needle to monitor the amount of oil going to the engine and I think that the lubricator on this engine will do the same as those without an adjusting needle and that is Gulp the oil which can leave you thinking that there is plenty of oil when there ain't.
( Why it Gulps the oil I don't know, but they do ).
I will be good to find out on this new engine how that lubricator preforms.

noticed on the bottom of the standard different width hope these are not like the early mini lathes that had to be virtually rebuilt but times have changed in regards to quality

There are several listed under more than one name so I presume they are coming from the maker who lists themselves as "Greempoweronline". It has a YouTube clip showing it running and has a forward/reverse/throttle control and a lubricator imcluded in the price. The seller emphasises that it is only a small engine but with 9.5mm bore and 15mm stroke it should be capable of pushing a reasonable size hull. The Buy it Now is US$210 but by bidding on one that was up for auction with a low start value I got one for US$151 including postage. Will report on what it looks like and how it goes when it arrives. Cheers, Ian.
