« on: December 25, 2012, 09:23:17 pm »

Hi All hope Xmas is going well for you? Father Xmas brought me a fast patrol launch kit this morning, has any one built one of these as i would be interested to hear wot sort of setups have been used. I might convert a 1cc PAW Diesel with rc throttle or maybe a small Bell outrunner, with Lipo any thoughts? Steve :-)

OH Dear Me thats' all I can say on the subject,I also was given one all I can say about the instructions is  >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*<

Best piece of advise I can HONESTLY give you is throw away the instructions and just build it I DID.

Power wise I am going to fit a 3000KVA Brushless in it on a 3 bladed prop should see it fly.

So Sorry to be so negative on this BUT it is the second of their boats that I have been involved in and the ins are really the pants and TBH with you I do NOT hold any hope for their future.

Anyone with a copy of the original AeroKits instructions to compare?

Just wondered if they are a straight copy and common sense was more prevalent when they were "New"

Hi Stavros, Thanks for the reply, Instructions? i thought they had supplied paper for writing me shopping list on! Still dont think the build will be that difficult compared to some models that i have put together costing a lot more. I would like to thank you again for retriving my grandsons yacht which sank at Wickstead on the sunday this year.
Cheers Steve.  :-))

Hi Circlip, i have on the building board a 48"Aerokits Raf Crash Tender which was orginally started when the first kits were produced, the instuctions are a bit vague in that but to be honest as long as there is a decent plan i can cope as i normally build large scale aircraft, Normally 1/4-1/3rd scale
Biplanes, Triplanes and that sort of model, have found my PAW 1cc engine so i might play around making water jacket for it inbetween painting the crash tender.

A66 it was a pleasure to be able to help so to speak.

Top tip with the kit is to actually build her up including fitting the deck BEFORE assembling the cabin..TRUST me on this one as my cabin did not fit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the hull has been built glue the cabin locators to the sides then superglue the rear to one side then the other cabin side and so forth it is far easier to get everything to align properly,as mine were such apoor fit I ended up making a new front windscreen.

Yes mine is 100% square and everything is in the right place lining up perfectly.

Maybee you should start a build blog to show how you got on
