Are there any World Records for model boat distance sailing?.

John.  :-))   :-))   :-))
I dont know about official distance records but there used to be an "endurance event" held at a midlands(?) shopping centre. A large-ish warship was the winner last time I noticed.    Sorry to be vague, any ideas if the event still happens anyone?  There have been numerous trans-Atlantic attempts, again I dont know if anyone has succeeded.  At least one model aircraft has crossed the Atlantic.   We had a Scandinavian member who was looking for plans of the ED model boat that crossed the English Channel many years ago.  Dont know if he got the plans or did the planned trip.    All 21 miles of Loch Ness still awaits ... Hi everyone,

Thought you may like to know we met up with the ATB crew on Thursday 16th May at Hurley lock (near Marlow, Bucks) on a lovely sunny morning for a photo shoot and lots of posing !!!

We then dashed off up river to just before Hambleden lock to get in position for more photo's. The whole gang then retired to a pub for lunch.
We finally waved farewell as they headed off towards Henley with HMS Daring still performing well as it neared the end of its 250 mile trip.

What a fantastic trip for a model boat and all for charity.

If there was any kind of medal for achievement in model boating then it should go to the ATB crew.

Well done to everyone.
