Hi... I am looking into this too. You normally need to supply autoCAD files... I would imagine it would cost a lot more if you had to get the plans drawn for you. What I have done is used the original boat plans I found on the internet, traced them using Illustrator, which I am more comfortable with, then importing them into AutoCAD to refine them... With these files, you can get the pieces cut. Also, having just one set of pieces cut is a lot more expensive than having multiple sets.... It all depends on how much you are prepared to spend! I recently got a quote for three sheets of parts cut from three different thicknesses of birch ply... With me supplying the AutoCAD files, ready to go, it came to about £240 +vat... If I had wanted 50 sets of parts it would have been much cheaper. This was an industrial cutting service so perhaps not ideal... I have requested a quote from Model Boat Bits...hopefully this will be a lot less. What boat are you planning to make?
