Hi guys,
does anyone know if the small red light,on the Trent lifeboat
" the one on the underside of the blue light platform"
is it a flashing red light?

 :-)
hello

I think it's a yellow light on when the TRENT towing vessel and the vessel set + trailer is less than 200 meters.
The lights are visible from 135 °
It may not be red which could be confused with a fire lit portside running

John,I'm not 100% sure but I think you will find this is an orange light? This would only come on if there was a problem down below,eg taking in water, which would trigger the orange light to start flashing. This is done because for instance the boat may be out on her moorings, and if the crew saw the orange light flashing they would know there was something wrong and would have to investigate. This is what happens on the Tamar,so would assume it to be the case for most boats?

Thanks Mick/Gaz, I think I will just make a dummy light for that one then.
I neither want to tow with it or to have her sink.
Though I could use one as a warning light for ingress of water as you
say the real one does Mick
