Futaba 6J in model tug
« on: July 07, 2013, 10:22:30 pm »

Has anybody had any experience of using a Futaba 6J radio installation in a twin screw tug with electronize FR30HX units. The instruction manual only discusses aircraft and rotary craft.

As long as it is either 27/40 mhz or 2.4 ghz then it will be fine.....All radios are biased towards the fly boys and NO info at all for us mariners

Thanks for your information on the subject. I am going to purchase a Futaba kit that will modify the left stick to allow it to sping to self centre and then follow your advice. I have seen elsewhere that my radio gear does not work with all speed controllers, so I am looking into that issue as well.

Thanks for the information. I have solved my problem by buying a new radio set that is compatible with the ESCs' that are already in the boat. It is a Hitec AFHSS -Optic6 Sport which a club member kindly set up for me. My Imara tug now runs a treat and can turn in its own length.
