And your point being???
Here we have kerbside recycling there everything is sorted into different compartments on the recycling truck by hand before it arrives at the recycling depot... So sharps are a possible hazard...
As the original poster is in the UK, what happens in Oz is not really relevant is it??
Ah yes it does, or don't we build model boats like you do with materials produced by UK.
Back on topic it is because of UK/EU we now have these recycling/garbage collections etc.
The company that does that work is from your neck of the woods, so yes very relevant.
I could say don't dump idiotic principles, etc, on us Australians, but that would be getting personal.
What I am saying and said, is, there is no issue for modellers to be concerned with.
As has be pointed out by others, all your efforts come to naught, as it is all dumped together even by the so called, dedicated recycling centres.
There is no benefit to the environment, nor is there a safety risk unless you are a garbage scrounger. You are more at risk from disease than sharps.
To reiterate my point what about the broken glass??????????????
If I didn't know better I would think this is PC discussion trying to rear its ugly head.
Simply put, put them in the bin anyway you choose.
PS, like others, I resharpen old blades, use them as scrapers, etc, so at the end of the day they are Blunts not sharps
