Dead dogs

Paddy took 2 stuffed dogs to the 'Antiques Roadshow'.

"Ooh!" said the presenter,
"This is a very rare set, produced by the celebrated Johns Brothers taxidermists who operated
in London at the turn of last century.
Do you have any idea what they would fetch if they were in good condition?"

"...Sticks?" Paddy replied.

If the dogs had been in good condition they would probably not have been stuffed, and would have been inclined to fetch a stick, if the stick had been thrown.
Of course, if, in addition to being stuffed and mounted, they had been motorised and fitted with a remote control...........

 :-)) There was a pub in Rotherhithe in the 60s that had a stuffed German Sheppard by the door it was said to keep out the riff raff, but they had to get rid of it as it become threadbare  the two pub cats used it as a scratching post their ownback on dogs I suppose,Ray. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Speaking of dogs and sticks...here's a story that might even be true...
 
Some Americans decided to go ice fishing. They bundled into a brand-new $$$$ Sport-Utility Vehicle and headed for the nearest frozen lake.
Digging a hole in the ice sounded like far too much 'work', so one of the fellows lit the fuse on a stick of Dynamite and threw it. Another one of the fellows had brought his dog, who promptly took off and returned the 'stick' to his master. His master kicked the 'stick' away, and as luck would have it, it ended up under the aforementioned $$$$ Sport-Utility Vehicle.
Then came the 'Earth-Shattering KABOOM', and the remains of that $$$$ Sport-Utility Vehicle sank through the hole in the ice...

sounds like the hole was just about big enough to fish through then  {-) , and they hid the evidence of damaging the vehicle, just claim it got stolen
