I had this originally on the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 when it was called Silent Service and you were captain of a US boat in the Pacific ( same software company UbiSoft ) , oh dear I also still have Silent Hunter for Windows somewhere ( think there was another version for escort captains and an option to play against each other but can't find it )

I'm getting better, I actually managed to sink a few ships today, 1 problem I do seem to be suffering is, I'll launch a torpedo, aiming manually, then I watch it on the map, and it quite often passes right through the target ship and out the other side, doing no damage! I've got the torpedo set to the shallowist setting so it shouldnt be going underneath the ships. Any ideas?

From memory there was the option to watch the torp, though I believe the issue was the torp not arming or more likely the error in the software as not arming it and therefore it just passed through the ship, later versions have the torp bounce off the hull and come to a stop. still annoying though >>:-(
