A most unusual design.  I should imagine the stress factor would come into play.

Any idea what the white material is please  ?

They are not MMM or Marks Model Bits. On both these the flexible material goes on the narrow end of the brass.

I wonder if the clear part is flexible silicon, dont know this type.

Hi Guys   they look a bit like MMM's  principal but dont think its those particular ones   and its  probably not liquid just amber coloured material maybe silicone as  suggested. its on   a Graupners premium Line model . maybe their own

Polyurethane - - Skate board wheel material. Available in many hardness's.

It comes in liquid form LB, two part mix like SiliconE rubber. Could be a GE product.

Hi.
Looks like graupner are using this type of coupler in all their RTR`s  just found my San Diego has one.  Not a Graupner product, checked all their different types of couplers. As its a made in China model as per everything else these days it could be a chinese copy of a european design.

Yes Frank, we do receive that site you are referring to here on the Wirral.  O0
Unfortunately, after a quick scan I see most of the items are for air line hose which I think will be to hard and not very flexable for the intended purpose.  What I am after is a material in rod or even tube form that is semi-flexable and can be used for a coupling such as we see above.
I did go to the local ironmongers this morning, they directed me to some vinyl tubing which may fill the bill but I am yet to be convinced; anyway it only cost £1.20 for a yard or so.

Purely on the grounds that if it has feathers and short legs and floats and quacks, its probably a duck - those rods do look a lot like lengths of hot glue gun refill.  The proboat link shows what might be a pin through the end cap and probably the rod as well.

 having looked some more at the Pro- boat items spares from Wheel spin models It looks like the is it fish or fowl mystery is solved its just  a piece of hollow tubing.

T'aint tubing, it's solid urethane. No liquids involved  (apart from the original manufacture). Skateboard wheels aren't filled with liquid?
