working anchor winch
« on: June 24, 2014, 06:41:56 pm »

Hello
I am thinking of adding a working anchor winch. I have found one (see Link) . I was wondering if any one has used that product or knows of another working winch.

There is a nice anchor winch of German production.

I have seen one used on Adam's Smit Kamara.  :-)

Hi Umi
thanks for that. I did a search of Rc group forum and found the same. On that German winch I got the impression that it was not available to buy

I think some of the confusion is that I first thought that Adam had scratch built the winch.
Then someone else posted other instances of people using the same winch.

I think more inquiries need to be made.

Hi Umi
thanks for all your help. I have emailed the guy in Germany and got a reply. I am ordering the anchor chain, then I will get the winch.

A friend bought a couple of these, and when they arrived, he called and said,
"I don't think I can use these, its a bag of parts. And the instructions are in German"

He forwarded the winches to me, and when I opened the package and saw the
contents, I said, " Aaahh Holy H311..."

But a bit of preserverance, and a bit of time yielded an excellent result.
I think the wired and finished version will work as advertised.
A nice kit of engineering by Mr Dahmen.  :-))
