2.7mm planking
« on: July 11, 2007, 02:40:58 pm »

Hello
I have just finished planking the aft deck of my 1:48 HMS Bulldog (Metcalf Mouldings) I have the fore deck + two more decks to go.
I have been using wood from Craft Supplies, originally I ordered 150 metres of 2.7mm boxwood stringing lines.
I had to send half back because it was the wrong size, I now find that they have run out!!!, leaving me somewhat high and dry.
PLEASE does anyone else have another supplier?

Try Art Veneers of Mildenhall Suffolk. Phone 01638 712550.

I found them very helpful. They've supplied me with planking for 1:128 scale Missouri, even sent me samples.

you could try JoTika Limited (www.jotika-ltd.com) - Model Marine Warehouse, Hadzor, Droitwich

Ive used this company for various timbers before and they are very obliging.

Thanks all,

Modelling timbers have it in hand, don't you just love Mayhem, one moment I'm sitting there wringing my hands , the next I have three addresses to go for.
Keith Jewell of Modelling Timbers couldn't have been more helpful, and he builds great model boats. I always think it helps when people actually understand what you are talking about.
