  hi  last week there was an article on pinning the planks on to the frames whilst it stuck  best wood glue and pins thanks my first plank on frame

Evening regiment.......

1. what type of vessel?.......static or to be immersed...& what size planks?
2. PVA [white glue] is fine for static & non glassed/painted, polyurethane glue is totally impervious to moisture
3. bronze pins are appropriate... but depending on the model

These little bronze pins are approx. 0.8 mm diameter x 10 mm long & are barbed just like full sized bronze marine nails
So with the 10 mm length, these pins are suitable for use with say 2 to 5 mm thick planks......
I always pre drill a 0.5 mm diameter hole in the plank & frame 

 ....the diameter of the pre-drilled hole is arbitrary & dependent on the materials used.......

I built my one and only plank-on-frame hull using thick CA.  No pins or clamps, just apply the glue and hold the plank in place until the CA grabs.  Keep the fingers moving to prevent them becoming part of the boat.  And soak the planks in window cleaner for at least 30 minutes before applying them.  The CA sticks even with the planks nearly dripping wet.

I use basically the same principle, and never use pins. CA certainly sticks to wet wood, as well as fingers   I know this from my own experience
