Glasgow Richmond Charity Sail - 7th September
« on: August 31, 2014, 02:19:39 pm »

Hello all,

Just to let you know that Glasgow Richmond Model Boat Club will be holding its annual charity sail on Sunday 7th September.

All moneys raised via the kitchen, tombola and any donations will be going to the club's nominated charities.

This is an open day sail so all are welcome.

During the day we are holding the final round (6) of our 30th anniversary club competitions featuring Fast Electrics, Club 500's and Wee Nip yachts. Let's see what the weather conditions are for that mixed bunch?

Also, for anyone in the area who had been preparing for todays (31st August) Paddleducks Day which sadly had to be cancelled, bring your boats along on Sunday enjoy a happy paddle on the pond. We should have our harbour in the water on the day.

This is our final open event, and the club has had a successful 30th anniversary year.

Just in case you missed our hosting for the SMWA of the National Warship Weekend in July here is a picture gallery:-

And our club outing on the Waverley, on just about the wettest day of the year you could imagine for a 12 hour cruise, but which flew by helped by the great banter, happy members, drink and fine, when the clouds lifted, views of some of the nicest places in the UK. And the sheer magic of the thud of paddle wheels and the spinning of bright, gleaming, pounding cranks.

Best wishes

Many thanks to all who came along to our charity show today.

The weather stayed nice and we had many boats on the water.

The club competitions came to their end with a shock result in the FE competition. There was carnage...and a last man standing  :o

Hopefully we can put some photos up here soon and there will be a page on our website.

All the best

Fantastic show as always Sandy and the sun certainly shone on the righteous. Editing gigabytes of stuff from today, had to move on to spare battery and card. Here's a taster of the quality of boats on the water and some neat formation sailing to boot. More soon.

And now the video. Fairly long at nearly 9 minutes but loads of boats and action, this really was a cracking event.
