Rubber dinghy...
« on: October 11, 2014, 09:32:48 am »

Morning all...anyone give me a clue as to what colour a WW2 rubber dinghy would be, please? I'm guessing a sort of dark olive/grey colour?

Hi Rich, depends on the dinghy. RAF/naval versions were a more light tan/orange colours. Others of a similar type have been more a blackish/grey colour.

My models are not nice, clean and ship-shape. They be mucky, grubby, rusty and smelly.

Ok, cheers Si...this is a WW2 dinghy from a German U boat kit, but it's an ideal size/scale to sit on the deck of my little tug. I think the light brown/orange colour will be fine for what I need.

I shall claim that the tug skipper kept it as a souvenir from his wartime days in the Navy if anybody asks...
