The Bangor gun.
« on: July 24, 2015, 09:13:33 pm »

Hello All,

I'm building a couple of Hochseeflotte Torpedo boats as opposition for Jutland. They were armed with 105mm guns of which there is a prime example in Ward Park, Bangor, County Down so.............Is there a Mayhem member there or thereabouts who could help with some photos?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Tony :-)

Hi John,

I've done the Googling but, as you know, you never have enough pictures so I thought I'd just ask the question.

Hi all,

Thanks to Micky, I now have a set of photos of the 10.5cm gun that was widely used by the German navy from the middle of WW1.
You may be able to see from the attached that the gun is far more complete than the usual memorial, so if anyone wants a copy of the pics, let me know and I'll e-mail a set.
All I've got to do now is make a dozen of them :embarrassed:

Hi Tony,

What scale are you building the vessels in?

That gun looks lovely!

Hi Ian,

I'm sticking to 1:96 but I'm building a couple of simplified B98 type torpedo boats and a model of Nassau, all out of foam/epoxy on the basis that someone has to create some opposition for Wickstead 2016. Thanks to Micky, I can at least cast decent guns!

Cheers

Good luck with the master design, I think that will be a beautiful model when done what with all the detail.
