TOWING BARGE

HI ALL. WITH THE SEASON COMING UP FAST, I AM LOOKING FOR A PLAN OR PLANS FOR A TOWING BARGE, WE HAVE A FEW TUG,S AT OUR POND , BUT NOTHING TO TOW. I WAS GOING TO MAKE ONE FREE HAND, BUT PLANS WOULD BE BETTER, OR ANY IDEA,S, IE SELF BALASTING , SPLIT HULL ECT, THERE MIGHT EVEN BE ONE OUT THERE NOT GETTING USED, THANKS ALL, IF THIS RAIN KEEP,S UP WE SHOULD ALL GET OUR BOATS OUT ON THE STREET. :D :D ;D

Don't know if this is what you are looking for but it might help.  It could be made up or down depending on how large you need it to be.

THANKS BLUESY THATS THE SORT OF THING, IF ANY OTHERS POP UP I MIGHT BE ABLE TO COMBINE THEM, BUT ITS A GOOD STARTING POINT

I just built one freehand out of 2mm plasticard to suit the tugs that would use it and half filled it with concrete.
It did take a good hammering and is still in use today, some 10 yrs after being built.

that looks well, im looking for one min 4 foot, thats the same one as blueses isnt it, i will have to start on it ,

It looks something like Blusy's but is different. This one is 4 foot. I have made plans for a 6 foot one too. It can be used for rip rap, palce crew quartes on it, or build an operating crane on it.

Here's a general arrangement for a tank barge. It can be broken into three pieces for transportation. You can also leave out the middle section for a shorter barge.

Have a squint at my page at www.badbillsboatyard.co.uk theres some decent pics of whats being towed around the clubs, from drilling platforms to flat-top barges, I would advise to steer clear of the 'lighter' type as the tow like a pig though!
