Pre cut planking?
« on: October 10, 2015, 12:56:30 pm »

I have an area measuring 39 and 1/2" long by 7" wide which I need to plank longitudinally in 1/32" thick ply. Each plank needs to be 3/8" wide and approximately 7" in length.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy these planks pre-cut? Or if I were to offer a suitable amount of beer vouchers, is there anyone who would cut them for me, please? I have neither the tools or the fingers to do a job like this... <:(

I use these a lot in various places.  The secret to a good square end is the sanding machine.    :}      If a thousand is too many, then you can always ask at McDonalds for a small handful every time you have a coffee.

Cheers

I have two boxes of coffee stirrers, a thousand per box...but they really need to be wider. No worries, I'll think of something...cheer, blokes.

Have you looked at Mantua Models deck planking strip ?   Very accurate and consistent quality.

Nearest I can see listed  ;  examples
1 x 8 x 1 metre   20 off £10.80
2 x 10 x 1 metre  8 off  £5.12

https://www.mantuamodel.co.uk/4_Model_Wood/Walnut_Strip/  Shows all sizes in walnut but lots of other woods available.

Ok...thanks to Ian (IanPAL) I'm now sorted. He had quantity of wood strips which fit perfectly, they are nearly a metre in length, and half again as wide as a coffee stirrer.

Thanks to everyone who added comments etc...much appreciated. And  thanks Ian.
