Getting No  joy from MPBA in replying to my emails and offering them my cash !

I wonder if we could ask them or a representative of them to come on here at a given date /time for a LIVE Q&A  session ?   What you think Martin ?

I cant use me boat legally untill they talk to me and take me ££ (3 months trying to date.) Maybe the invitation should be forwarded and a definate answer / opinion sought ?

Everyone seems to have their own favorite prop tube grease and for me they are all about the same.... Gasp! Shock! Horror!  :o
The trick is to remember to regease it regularly.

Good idea Shane, see if you can invite anyone from the MPBA to comment.

             Hi Shane,

            Re: MPBA membership.  I assume that you have tried to e.mail them but I beleive that they like to have something such as 'Membership Enquiry' in the mail subject box but better still, have you tried contacting Peter Revill who is the Mem. sec.  His details are;

                      Peter Revill,
                      Furzelands Farm,
                      Maypole Road,
                      Langford,
                      Maldon,
                      Essex CM9 4SZ

or try ringing him on 01621 854765
I generally get a good response when i try to contact him.

                Wiggy.

hi shane,
for insurance you could try  walker midgley  insurance brokers ltd.  tel. 0114 250 2777. they insure all kinds of models, my policy is for boats and is for £2,oooooo and cost £17 50.

as for grease I use the robbe stuff from pandan models, it ain,t cheap about £7.50 but it,s good.

hope this helps yours ron

Shane,

If the original text quoted in your earlier post was all you put in your Email I'm not altogether surprised it got the response that it did!

I know I know I deserved the response I got . My email was short and sharp and its no real excuse but after having had 4 others ignored completely I was getting fed up of them .

I think they have a lot of website problems just now, nobody to do it. Like most organisations, the bulk of the work just falls on a few people and they seem to be struggling a bit at the moment.

Re MPBA membership thread.

Dear Shane, Firstly I would like to apologise for your difficulties in getting a responce from the MPBA.
I am the General Secretary for the MPBA my name is Kath Jones, BB ste's other half.

Secondly I have just been told about your problems from another member who I must say is not impressed with your email.  However I can see how a lack of responce could make you angry but if you had simply asked for information on how to join or who to contact I am quite sure someone would have given you my details.  I would also like to ask what your email address is because apparently that has also been a bone for contention with Peter Revill as it does not clarify who you are and as a result has come across as a bogus looking address.
What address have you been emailing in order to reach the MPBA because the site has changed and is under review at the moment.
If you are prepared to TALK then please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or send back a posting.

Yours Truly Kathy. X

To all
can I just say in response to this last note that the MPBA is not scale orientated.  I may be the wife of the scale section secretary but the MPBA is covering all aspects of the modelboating just as it always has and if I get my way there will be more things to see in the MPBA magazines in the future relating to Fast electric, Multi, Hydro, straight running circuit racing and ship handling as well as standard scale.

Don't get me wrong Kathy, I was just making the point that the MPBA is not just about the other competitive classes. I've been a member since around 1970 including a stint as Scale Secretary.
