Hi Charlie,

You could try searching for HMAS Sydney on the Internet.

Hi,

Ned has the right idea!

I did not post a photo as it is about the statement made by the EBayer.

Joe Public doesn't have our advantages.  It's big grey and got guns on it, must be a "battleship".    Down at the pond, I'm screaming in my head "It's a Destroyer, you prat!" , when Daddy says  "Look Matthew! It's an aircraft carrier!!"

A bit hard to comment on an ebayer without a link to the particular one.  But you can be sure that if you are looking for something specific, it will be hidden behind a huge pile of mis-named rubbish, or, if you are looking for something of a general nature, there will be huge piles of very specific, but irrelevant, rubbish to get past.

For TailUK, the number of times that my Snowberry has been positively identified by a posh accent as a "Titanic".....but that was when the film was fairly recent and Discovery was full of it.

Yes, in most minds the distinction between the words "battleship" and "warship" is probably about the same as between "bought" and "brought".

The Curtin University in W.A. has 500,000 images of the wreck (which is lying 2500 down, 200 Km off the Australian coast) and is using a super computer to develop a 3D image of the Sydney that one can "walk" "swim" around.
So far only the bow section has been modeled.
Even with the super computer it may take years to fully complete the modelling.

Despite the fact it's probably not Black and White and it's shy three funnels!  Priceless!
