Tethered Amps

Would there be a considerable or minimal increase in Amps with boat  tethered or Held  for testing particularly with  one you have a job to restrain flat out

You won't get full revs with the boat restrained, the motor won't "unload".
You also have to watch for cooling too but you shouldn't burn anything up that wasn't going to burn up on released run anyway! 

If testing restrained for longer than a few minutes (why?), use a small / finer pitched prop.

Why not buy and fit an on-board watt-meter? That way you can record the maximum current drawn during a run as well as view the actual current at any time (e.g. with the boat tethered). Here's a relatively cheap one which I use http://www.4-max.co.uk/wattmeter-budget.htm

Thanks guys  Dave I have their basic one so I know what it is tethered might try that one
