Tyne Class Running Gear
« on: July 18, 2016, 08:28:59 pm »

Hi all,
New to model building and the Tyne Class will be my first build (originally planned on the 'Moorhen' buoy tender). I have the vac formed hull and plans from myhobbystore but I need some advice as to what sort of running gear I require, the plan states 38mm props but not sure what size motors/batteries etc.
Can anyone help?
Kind Regards,
Michael.

Hi,  I have recently completed a semi-scratch 36 inch Tyne class.   I used two 480 fully suppressed brushed motors driving two 35mm props, with an Mtronics 15 Amp ESC.   It will run on Nihms or Lipos from 7.2 volts to 8.4 volts.   It goes well and is fast enough for me ,but if you are into brushless motors it could go faster.   Pete
