adolph bermpohl Question
« on: August 16, 2016, 09:54:47 pm »

after a bit a advice.

now that using all three motors on the adolph bermpohl. I noticed that my sound unit has a option for a 2nd motor input :).

Question is, would the middle engine only be used/started  only when needed or would all three be run all the time.(I'm only going to use it as a booster motor)

cheers

Hi. I have also rebuilt a model of the Adolph Bermpohl, and the same question raised  its  head, what I can gather the two outer motors were used for cruising speed and manoeuvring, the middle/third motor was only used to get somewhere in a hurry, on the Bermpohl the centre prop is a larger size than the two outers, giving that extra bit of grunt.
I hope this is of some help, she is a fine model and sits up well when opened up.

Used to only use the middle motor but was a pain to steer when the smaller boat was beening recovered but going to use tank steering so should help a bit.

Cheers

Hi, I have a twin screw boat and have a mixer in the transmitter.  You get excellent steering and also when stationary turning the rudders also powers up the motors and she turns on the spot.

Hi. If you don't already have a mixer fitted, I used the P94 for my Bermpohl it gives complete control over the two outer props with an option to control the speed of the third, a neat and efficient unit, first look at the price you think it is expensive but put together 2 speed controllers and a mixer bought individually it is well within the acceptable price range, plus all the electronics are balanced to one unit, I have 3 of these now in various models and highly recommend them. I have no financial interests in the suppliers, just a satisfied customer of many years, right from the early days of Action with Craig Talbot.
